Berlin has a very effective transit system that operates 24 hours a day, with subways, trains, trams and buses. There is no need to rent a car, as public transit should get you where you need to go.
To save on fares, tourists have the option of purchasing day and multi-day tickets that are valid for one adult and up to three children (aged six to 14.) Group day tickets can also be purchased, allowing up to five people to use any of the public transportation services that day.
